Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue

Okay, so I know that it's not my wedding day yet, but I figured I'd prepare by getting a new car! It's a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo, and the BEST part...it's NAVY!!! I absolutely love it. This morning it gave me a bit of a scare when it wouldn't turn on...but that problem has since been resolved by the dealership, and I'm on my way to smooth driving. Sorry, haven't had time yet to take pictures. As soon as I get a chance, they'll be on their way.
PS~the something borrowed is the car loan, in case you hadn't figured that one out yet.

Princess Party

Raleigh had her Princess Party today and had a great time with some of her aunts and her "girlie cousins". Ellie became best friends with Mrs. Pots and was the only princess who dared talk to Princess Belle. (Although, the entire way home Raleigh talked about how great it was that Belle was there - even though she wouldn't talk to her). I tried to get a good picture of Daphne with her beautiful smile but I couldn't - apparently, Raleigh has taken over Daphne's 'Pirate Smile". Raleigh wants to thank all her cousins that came to her party!

Also, we are having yet another birthday party for Raleigh on her birthday which is Friday the 28th. We are having a non-fancy dinner and then cake and icecream at about 6ish. Please let me know who is coming - and don't feel bad if you cannot come. It will be a very small birthday party bash with Strawberry Shortcake plates, napkins and cups per Raleigh's request. Ellie - if your mommy cannot come, hitch a ride with Grandma and Grandpa!

From Oaks to Acorns

BAM! Friday afternoon, pulling into the garage. I notice a half of green acorn on the hood of the Grand AM. I wonder, could this be an early beginning of the annual fall offensive?

BAM! Friday evening, 11:15, watching channel 8 news in bed. Well, maybe this was a partner to the other rogue attack, released by some squirrel or bird.

BAM! BAM! Saturday morning, first light. OH CRAP, it's beginning to sound like . . . BAM!, BAM! BAM!

Saturday morning, 8 AM, I see the above on our driveway. Driveway was clear the day before.

Anyone need a Jesus doll? If the authentic rabbi garb doesn't impress you, the realistic healing hands sure will.

100 Degrees, Internet, August 19

Well, I know that it has been some time since I have connected with the 21st Century, but alas, here it is...my first post from my apartment! That's right, Joanna and I got internet this past week, and it has been wonderful. I'm thoroughly enjoying my itunes, and Missy thank you for the itunes card that I am finally able to put to good use. I've been able to get some good James Taylor and "You make me feel so Young".

I'm guessing that the heat in Holland is much the same as it is here. 100 degree temps and nearly 100 % humidity have made me thankful for the air conditioning that I've been enjoying. But there is a cool looking storm brewing outside, so I'm looking forward to the lightning and thunder tonight.

Ryan and I are planning a trip to Holland over August 19th. It's going to be the first time we can get home between now and then. Unfortunately, I'm going to miss Uncle Jim's yearly get together at the lake, and I did have a somewhat Carol-Cremation of Sam McGee ditty planned. Oh well, perhaps I will have the fortunate oppurtunity to express the creative rendition of Mr. Service's clever verse regarding the perils of cremating certain unfortunate individuals.

New House in Mattawan

We finally bought our new house in Mattawan. Here are some pictures. We hope you will all come and visit often. We are moving out on July 28th? and moving in around August 2nd. Don't worry, noone has to help us move!!!!

I got my cable back...cable back..cable back

I'm very excited about tonights TV schedule. 10:00 on Bravo is the season premiere of Project Runway! Who will rival Santino this year in extreme levels of obnoxiousness? Will Tim Gunn vary any of his vocal tones this year? How hot will Heidi Klum look...not pregnant? And then, I'll be flipping it to TLC for the premiere of Junk Brothers. Thank goodness it starts at 11:00! Dave, you'll have to watch tour de France on the small tv.

QUOTE OF THE DAY

I was watching Fox News tonight and the following appeared on the bottom of the screen in the running news section that all the cable news channels use.

"Al Quiada tries to infiltrate British Intelligence Service. British newspapers report that Al Quiada tried to place personel within the British M5 Intellegence service, but were weeded out after the lengthy interview process."
