Missy, dear recently elusive Missy. Please come over and show me how to connect. We have ice cream, the history channel, Mom's blobbing blanket.

Dad,
Lest your heart be faint, I'll explain my absence with the old saying, "it's not you... it's me". I've had the nasty sickness that mom had. I'm hoping today is the turning point though. One can only take so many days of this!

Missy,
We heard - From Kristine Fogg. Stay away until you are better cause I'm still feeling good. Mom was so misrable at one point she told me to take her out back and shoot her. I replied that it was lucky I forgot where the gun was. So she reminded me. "Lucky I don't have any amunition" I answered. "That's what stores are for" she whispered back. Tonight at dinner I reached across the table and grabbed her hand and just held it for awhile. "I just need to feel your skin" I said. "For a time in grade school I thought about becoming a priest, but that just would not have worked out for me." Mom answered, "One year when I was in grade school I picked up some literature about becoming a nun. Never wanted to be a nun but was curious how my parents would react. Years later they made some offhanded comment about my interest in becomming a nun." You did that on purpose?", I asked. "Just to bug your mom and dad?". "Why, yes" mom said. To which I said, "That's why you got sick!!!"

I was reading Genesis just the other day and was impressed by how things are passed down throughout generations, both blessings and curses. One of the things we discussed in my class on Monday was the heritage of deceiving that was passed down from Abraham, to Isaac to Jacob. Unusual how that all ends up going on, but interesting non-the-less. Then, in a conversation with one of the providers that I work with I mentioned the book about Captain Joe, because he likes to read obscure books regarding history. It began an interesting conversation about how cool it is that I have such a strong connection with my heritage/history etc. Which of course led me to telling the story of Capt Joe almost becoming a priest, but deciding that "wouldn't suit because he had a fondness for the ladies". Dr. Carroll responded, "I suppose that's a good thing!" To which my response was, "yeah, and apparently I descended from a 'naughty priest' on the other side. It's a good thing that happened too." Hmmmmmmmmmmmm... I hope that this doesn't mean that I end up a missionary drop-out...

Dad,
What have I done to deserve this sickness? What trouble did I ever cause my parents? I was neither a drunkard, a hussy, nor a nun...

Missy,
It must be from all those glasses with 1/2 inch of liquid left in the bottom.
